Carers FIRST runs services in Medway , supporting over 4,000 adult carers and their families and over 300 young carers aged under 18 years old.
Carers FIRST runs social groups across all area as well as quarterly events such as theatre trips, meals and days out.

For more details please see the What's On guide for the area you live in.
Under the Care Act 2014, if you are a Carer and you appear to have any level of needs for support, you are entitled to a Carer’s Assessment. Having a Carer’s Assessment is not linked in any way to Carer’s Allowance.
A Carers Assessment is the opportunity for you to tell someone what impact caring has on your life. The assessment may be carried out on the telephone, in a community venue, or in some circumstances at your home. The assessment will look at how caring affects your life, including for example, physical, mental and emotional needs, and whether you are able or willing to carry on caring.
To find out more information, including how to prepare for your assessment, please see the Carers Assessment page on our website.
The Council undertakes carers assessments in Medway. You can contact them on 01634 334466, or email them at firstname.lastname@example.org
