We are funded through agreements with Kent County Council, grants and private donations.  Lankelly Chase Trust, the Four Acres Foundation, Connexions, the Henry Smith Foundation, the Sobell Foundation and the Primrose Hill Trust all contribute to Carers FIRST through grants. Volunteering Your Time Legacies

Carers FIRST is fortunate to have some excellent volunteers, without whom we would find it very much more difficult to operate. Our GAP year volunteers help in our Respite Department and in providing accompanied breaks for Young Carers.  Other volunteers assist in running support groups or provide assistance with administration, HR and accounts. We are currently looking for volunteers to help with direct mail and assisting with Support Groups.

You can choose to leave a legacy to our general fund or link it to a particular area of our work, for example carers of people with additional mental health needs, young carers or older carers.  Every penny will go straight into services for the carers of West Kent.  Estates worth more than £300,000 are liable to inheritance tax of 40% but if a charitable legacy takes the value of an estate below this threshold, inheritance tax will not be due. Please consult your legal advisor for additional information.
