Carers FIRST is a growing charity supporting adult and young carers working in the districts of South and North West Kent, Medway, Waltham Forest and Lincolnshire  A carer is anyone who looks after a relative or friend who due to ill health, physical or mental illness, disability, frailty or addiction, cannot manage without their support.

Carer Support and Assessment Coordinator
Salary: 20,015 per annum
Hours: 37 Hours per week (Part-time Hours Negotiable)
Location: Community Working, West Essex


Carers FIRST is a leading carer’s organisation delivering services across Essex, Kent, Medway, Lincolnshire, Waltham Forest and Haringey. We provide a wide range of information, advice and support to people of all ages who are looking after a relative or friend who could not manage without their help. We have grown significantly over recent years and are now seeking new Carer Support & Assessment Co-ordinators, to support Carers across Essex.

The requirements of post will include pro-active identification of carers through partnership working, running peer support groups, delivery of carer assessments and providing information, advice, guidance and emotional support to carers.

To be successful you will have experience of working with adults and children either in a 1:1 or group setting, working knowledge of social care and health, particularly in relation to adults and children and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Location: Role 1 - based in North Essex Role 2 - based in South Essex


Carers FIRST is a leading carer’s organisation delivering services across Essex, Kent, Medway, Lincolnshire,Waltham Forest and Haringey. We provide a wide range of information, advice and support to people of all ageswho are looking after a relative or friend who could not manage without their help. We have grown significantlyover recent years and are now seeking new Carer Support & Assessment Co-ordinators (Health), to supportCarers across Essex.

The requirements of post will include pro-active identification of carers working within the hospitalenvironment,working closely with health and social care colleagues to identify Carers and provide them with navigation through the health system, providing information, advice, guidance and emotional support to carers. You will also be required to work within the multi-disciplinary discharge team to assist seamless discharges.

ADMINISTRATION APPRENTICE
Salary: £3.80 per hour
Hours: 37 Hours per week
Location: Central Office (Strood)


We require an apprentice to work within our Admin team, providing general admin support to operational teams and answerting calls from professionals, taking referrals and adding information onto our Carers database.


Training Provided

On the job training with the employer whilst working otward the Apprenticeship Framework - consisting of the Intermediate NVQ Level, Technical Certificate and Functional Skills if appropriate.

Regular work based assessments/observations carried out by Kent Training & Apprenticeships Tutor Assessor, to determine competency and meet with Awarding Body standards. 

Important Information

Carer Support and Assessment Coordinator (HUB)
Salary: £20,015 pro rata, per annum
Hours: 22.5 Hours per week (to be worked across 3 days - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday)
Location: Tonbridge/Strood, Kent

We provide a wide range of information, advice and support to people of all ages who are looking after a relative or friend who could not manage without their help. We have grown significantly over recent years and we are currently seeking a well-motivated Carer Support and Assessment Coordinator to join our team.

We are excited to offer the above role and the successful candidate will work within our busy Carers Hub team providing telephone support. Being the first point of contact for carers, you will be required to give information, advice, and guidance undertaking a proportionate assessment of carers needs and where appropriate assist with support planning.

This role entails working across our 2 offices in Kent, with the preference being 2 days working in our Tonbridge office and 1 day working in our Strood office each week.

Salary: 20,199 - £23,154 per annum
37 Hours per week

and Haringey. We provide a wide range of information, advice and support to people of all ages who are looking after a
relative or friend who could not manage without their help. Our organisation has grown significantly over recent years and
are currently seeking a Carer Support and Assessment Co-ordinator Team Lead to work supporting the Hospitals Team and
Carers in the local area.

Carers FIRST are seeking to appoint the above role as a supplement to the Carer Support and Assessment Coordinator role.
Candidates will need to have a strong working knowledge of the given locality.

This role requires strong leadership of staff, to support the Locality Manager to maximise engagement and ensure the
locality objectives of the organisation’s strategic specification are achieved.

Community Inclusion Co-ordinator - Kent and Medway
Salary: £22,667 pro rata (including London fringe weighting)
Hours: 22 Hours per week
Location: Outreach Role, Linked with Strood and Tonbridge Offices

We provide a wide range of information, advice and support to people of all ages who are looking after a relative or friend who could not manage without their help. We have grown significantly over recent years and we are pleased to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for a well-motivated, experienced Community Inclusion Coordinator to join our friendly team.

The successful candidate will be able to work under their own initiative, alongside the operational teams to develop and co-ordinate active carer and volunteer led projects that will enhance community engagement, in particular, by those with lived experience of caring for a relative or friend. You will have a strong commitment to community empowerment having had experience of developing and co-ordinating successful volunteer and community led initiatives. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential to this role, along with a willingness to actively seek opportunities for volunteers, in particular, carers and former carers, to become part of Carers FIRST and shape the wider services for carers.
