Haringey Young Carers Project in partnership with Family Action provides regular group activities for young carers aged 5-18. These sessions include a variety of activities such as sports, cooking and music as well as a number of educational workshops such as career planning, budgeting and exploring the role of a young carer. These sessions enable young carers to have fun and learn new skills within a safe environment as well as providing an opportunity for them to meet and socialise with other young carers who may share similar experiences to them.
The Young Carers Project also provides a mentoring programme where young carers can be matched with an adult mentor who will meet with you regularly and engage in social activities together in the local community e.g. going to the cinema, ice skating or for a meal.
In addition we can also support you and your family by signposting you to other relevant services.
Are you a young carer? Do you know a young carer? If so please contact Mark Cullen on 07971 309 334 or firstname.lastname@example.org to find out how you can get involved.
