At the beginning of June to celebrate Volunteers' Week, Carers First put the spotlight on volunteering and our volunteers across our social media pages.

We currently have 127 volunteers who have made a fantastic contribution to our work, enabling us to reach and support more carers.

Volunteers have generously given their time to phone carers to check on their wellbeing, helped carers to get online, raised our profile in local communities, fundraised for us and became Trustees of the charity. We are inspired by the enthusiasm, dedication and compassion of our volunteers and hugely appreciative for the difference they help to make.

Our volunteers are all ages and come from all walks of life. Ariel volunteers as a Check-in and Chat Volunteer alongside studying for his degree. In his first month, he has made over 80 calls to carers.

He says "I would recommend volunteering with Carers First. They are really supportive, and it makes you feel like you’re doing good.”

Volunteering can be a rewarding and enjoyable experience, and it’s really important to us that our volunteers get the most out of that experience. We are proud that 80% of our volunteers feel valued in their role as a volunteer.
