Formal Gardens at Burghley House

11am - 2pm

Burghley House, Stamford, PE9 3JY

We are delighted to invite you to a special Carers Week outing at the magnificent Burghley Estate in Stamford, where you will have the opportunity to explore some of the most beautiful gardens in the region. Join us for a relaxing and inspiring day as we wander through the stunning Formal Gardens, rich with horticultural interest, striking sculpture, and vibrant seasonal colour. Enjoy the gentle contours of the renowned Sculpture Garden, created within the landscape once shaped by the great Capability Brown and thought to be among his 'lost' designs. Your visit will also include entry to the captivating Garden of Surprises, a wonderfully engaging space inspired by classical civilization, astrology, and astronomy. This imaginative garden offers a sensory experience filled with delightful features and unexpected moments around every corner. In addition, you will have the rare opportunity to explore the South Gardens, usually closed to the public. These private gardens provide a beautiful contrast of colour and structure, set within Capability Brown's sweeping, Arcadian vistas. We hope you will join us for this enjoyable day spent appreciating nature, tranquility, and good company during Carers Week.

Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for the day. Bring your own picnic or you can purchase refreshments from the garden cafe. Free parking and accessible parking available on site.
