Sonny Green, a poet who performed on Britain's Got Talent, paid a visit to Carers First Young Carers in Southend-on Sea on Saturday 14 March for their Young Carers Action Day Event: Choreographing Change.

Sonny's visit included a read out of his now famous poem "This Is What England Means To Me", which he performed on the Britain's Got Talent stage.

He also shared his experience as a former young carer himself, and spoke with the children and staff about the importance of looking after their wellbeing, and how journaling and poetry can be a big help.

The day featured a high energy dance workshop where the children learnt new moves and were encouraged to get creative, choreographing their own dances inspired by this year's theme: Fair Futures for Young Carers.

The event helped young carers to build their confidence and work as a team while expressing themselves, finishing the session by performing for family and friends.
