Carers First is celebrating being a finalist for Care Charity of the Year in the Kent Charity Awards 2022, for the second year in a row. Carers First acknowledges that our nomination recognised the work that we have done and do to continually develop our services to reach and support more carers.
Alison Taylor, Chief Executive at Carers First, said
“We are delighted to have been recognised for the second year running by Kent Charity Awards. Thank you to the Judges for this opportunity to make caring more visible, valued and supported.”
Carers First were one of four charities from hundreds across Kent who were Finalist in the ‘Care’ category award. This is our second consecutive year in becoming a finalist.
It was a privilege to be recognised as a charity and to be in the company of so
many wonderful charities which are doing great work across the Medway community in supporting the health and wellbeing of residents.
Naresh Katnoria Service Manager for Medway, Nikki Brooker Young & Young Adult Carers Team Lead, Syreeta Gibson, Brokerage Services Coordinator, and Alison Taylor, Chief Executive at Carers First attended the awards evening on 8 September for Finalist for the Kent Charity Awards. Sadly, upon arrival we learnt of the passing of the Queen and organisers quickly updated and shortened the evening's programme.
Thanks go to our brilliant Medway Team, Karen Johnson, who drafted our bid, carers Kulbir and Margaret who met the judges with Alison and all our central services teams who make our work with carers in the community, possible.
This year, the winner of Care Charity of the Year was Romney Marsh Community Hub and the overall winner of the Kent Charity Award was Rainbow Centre. Both are brilliant charities, with this award being well deserved.
