Carers First have secured the contract by Southend City Council to continue to provide help and support for carers and young carers in the area.
This means that the charity can continue to help carers find balance in their lives, with a dedicated team and skilled individuals to provide support, offering help and advice online, by phone, or face to face.
Megan Williams, Carers First Southend-on-Sea Team Lead, said: "We are incredibly proud and grateful to have secured this contract, which means our dedicated Southend team can continue to stand alongside unpaid carers in our community.
“Many of us don’t think of ourselves as carers, we’re simply supporting someone we care about. That might be a parent, partner, sibling, friend, or neighbour. yet two in three of us will take on a caring role at some point in our lives.
“Everything we offer is shaped by carers themselves, from our young carers club and wellbeing walks to coffee mornings, male carer meet-ups and other activities that create space to breathe and connect.
“To every carer in Southend-on-Sea: you are not alone. If you’re supporting someone, please reach out and register with us. Come and meet our team, connect with others who understand your journey, and discover the support that’s here for you.”
