We were delighted to welcome 41 carers on Monday 30 January for our Carers First Haringey Health Day at the Cypriot Community Centre on Earlham Grove. The event was designed to raise awareness of health and well-being services for carers in Haringey.
Massage and blood pressure checks were offered throughout the day. We also held taster workshops including Gentle Exercise, Chi Gung and Laughing Yoga.
We were delighted to be joined by partner organisations including Healthwatch Haringey, the Bridge Renewal Trust and Stroke Association.
We had some great feedback from carers including:
"It was very encouraging to meet the Carers First Team face to face! The various local organisations represented enabled me to access information, support and advice directly, quickly and easily. I left feeling empowered, valued and supported: a great day."
“The event was really useful, I never had any issues with my blood pressure but coming out today and having a check they have advised me to go and see my GP!”
“This was really good, the information and the groups and I had a couple of massages.”
