Kate Garraway spoke about the support Carers First has to offer in celebration of Carers Rights Day, and drew particular attention to our support on the hospital discharge process.
Her post read: "Today is national #carers ’ Rights Day. Two out of three of us will become a carer at some point in our lives. I know that being a carer is so rewarding and wonderful , but also exhausting and often very isolating & even frightening as it's tough to know where to turn. That’s one of the reasons why I’ve set up the sharing.life, because i know what it’s like to simply not know where to begin.
"Today though I also want to tell you about the brilliant charity @carersfirst who’ve put together a Carers Rights Checklist – with essential information and focusing on making sure carers know they have the right to be involved and consulted when their loved one is discharged from hospital, which I know from personal experience is vital.
"If you or anyone you know might benefit from this help please check out @carersfirst’s website to see their toolkit - and do sign up for the sharing.life - so we can help each other to get through life’s challenges together."
